Chairman RDA Assures Support to Business Community in Construction Activities

RAWALPINDI: The chairman of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Tariq Mehmood Murtaza, guaranteed that the business community will receive all possible assistance in promoting development projects.

During a meeting related to the 2nd “Pakistan International Property Expo and Convention” held at the Islamabad Serena Hotel, the keynote speaker was Chairman RDA Tariq Mehmood Murtaza where he shared these thoughts.

The Chairman RDA spoke to the attendees about the event and the city’s current development projects, particularly the Ring Road project.

He said that the recommendations of ICCI and RCCI had been taken into consideration for the improvement and adornment of the city.

To relieve the city’s traffic congestion, he said Special Economic Zones will be built along Rawalpindi’s Ring Road.

The chairman said that by implementing the long-term strategy, encroachments from the city could be permanently rectified, adding that encouraging exports and investment from the private sector is the key to solving Pakistan’s economic issues.

According to him, the One Window Operation Center was built to benefit both the public and the corporate community.

He stated that OWOC is now resolving issues with the approval of building designs, and housing schemes, changing the use of land, and transferring properties.

To expedite construction operations and builders and developers, he added, the RDA has established a deadline for the issue of No Objection Certificates and the approval of building plans/maps.

He said that because of RDA’s business-friendly policies, construction activities are quickening and the organization’s revenue has multiplied.

The meeting was attended by the former president of the ICCI, Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, the president of the RCCI, Saqib Rafique, the DG of Information Technology, as well as members of the ICCI, the RCCI, the business community, and others.
