RAWALPINDI: The Chairman of Rawalpindi Development Authority, Tariq Mehmood Murtaza, has advised citizens to check the legitimacy of housing societies before making any investments.
He said that the investors and general public could check a society’s legal standing on the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate or the RDA official website.
The chairman has shared that the authorities have been conducting raids on illicit housing schemes and are taking strict actions against the violators.
The RDA has also launched operations against encroachments, schools, shops, plazas, and commercial and residential constructions violating the building bylaws.
According to the RDA spokesperson, more than 30 buildings have been demolished by the authority, and FIRs have also been launched against several individuals.
He added that the RDA regularly launches operations in full swing against unapproved constructions.
