RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), with the assistance of city police, has demolished and sealed illegal constructions on Adiala Road, Service Road, and High Court Road.
RDA, despite facing resistance from the locals, has sealed six illegal residential structures, 15 illegally constructed shops, and three illegal plazas while demolishing an illegal plaza and multiple boundary walls.
The DG also overturned the structural engineer’s license for illegal construction and issued him a warning notice to be cautious in the future.
The details suggest that the Director General RDA, Saif Anwar Jappa, has also issued a show cause notice to building inspector Muhammad Bilal for incompetence and failure in his work while investigating illegal constructions in City Villas along the Nullah Leh Expressway.
Besides, the DG has directed the Building Control Wing to conduct a survey on fees and charges for the approval of illegal residential and commercial buildings, commercialization, and building complementary maps and plans.
In response to public complaints, DG RDA Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa visited Nullah Leh Expressway and inspected illegally constructed houses and under-construction buildings in City Villas.
The DG stated that he never intended to harass citizens and advised them, as well as investors, not to spend their hard-earned money in illegal housing societies lacking RDA’s approval.
It is relevant to mention here that the civic body earlier, also took notice of the illegal societies displaying catchy streamers, banners, and hoardings to entice gullible people and overseas Pakistanis.
