Chief Secretary Assures Restoration of Niaz Stadium to International Standards

HYDERABAD: The Chief Secretary for Sindh, Sohail Ahmad Rajput stated on Wednesday that the historic Niaz Stadium in Hyderabad would soon be renovated and brought up to par with other stadiums around the country.

As per the details, the Chief Secretary gave the order while presiding over a high-level conference, directing that Rani Bagh and other recreational parks, schools, hospitals, and other city development projects should be completed within the allotted time.

He also warned the concerned departments that any attempt to delay the implementation of development plans would not be accepted.

Furthermore, Sohail Rajput underlined the necessity to implement more efficient techniques to enhance WASA’s performance and stated that the departments with their own finances should use these funds to complete the development work.

Following the officers of the Provincial Highways Department’s briefing, the Chief Secretary ordered that the building of the Hyderabad-Tando Muhammad Road and other highways be finished at the earliest.

Besides, during his briefing, Commissioner Nadeem ul Rehman Memon stated that the encroachments on HMC property had been identified and that soon these encroachments would be removed.

The DC suggested increasing the police force and implementing a fine system similar to that in Karachi in order to address the city’s traffic issues.

Additionally, the city’s traffic problems, according to the Chief Secretary, are primarily due to illegal encroachment, and vowed that all issues would be rectified on a priority basis.

The DC also gave a briefing to the group on the actions being taken to clear encroachments in the city and other parts of the district.
