Chitral TMA Employees Protest Non-Payment of Salaries

CHITRAL: The employees of Chitral Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) are on strike for the second consecutive day, protesting the non-payment of salaries for the past six months.

The president of the TMA employees’ union, Bahadur Khan, and other leaders expressed their frustration and mental distress caused by the delayed salary payments.

They also mentioned that their electricity connections were disconnected due to outstanding dues.

As per the details, the employees have declared that they will continue their strike until the pending salaries are paid.

Tehsil Municipal Officer Rahmat Hanif Khan stated that they have reached out to higher authorities to release the necessary funds for the payment of the employee’s salaries.

Lower Chitral Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ali Khan assured that the matter has been brought to the government’s attention, and they expect the grant to be released soon.
