GILGIT: The European Union (EU) has approved a grant of PKR 7.86 billion for climate-resilient and sustainable projects in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and Chitral, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
The grant will be used to build energy projects that aim to eliminate the sufferings of people at the forefront of the impact of global warming and climate change.
GB Chief Secretary Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani expressed gratitude to the EU for supporting the GB government in these trying times.
He pledged to complete the projects within a stipulated time frame.
The chief secretary emphasized that the quality of the projects would not be compromised and that the process would be transparent.
He also stated that the provincial government would continue to make efforts to protect the environment and improve health and education infrastructure in the region.
