ISLAMABAD: The Climate Change Ministry has announced that it will prepare a new plan to improve the green cover in Islamabad, the federal capital, amid ongoing development projects.
Officials have collected data that shows air pollution is increasing in many parts of the city due to these projects.
The ministry aims to preserve the green cover in the face of this development, which is necessary to provide facilities and ensure the smooth flow of traffic.
Furthermore, the Capital Development Authority and the Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency will also be involved in the new plan, which will be reviewed and approved by the climate change ministry.
Besides, the plan will also aim to reduce the number of vehicles on the roads through the revival of the bicycle culture and the use of mass transit systems.
