QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister, Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo, has approved a housing project for low-wage fishermen in Gwadar.
The Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) will receive 200 acres of land from the Board of Revenue for the Fishermen Housing Scheme Colony.
According to the details, a budget of PKR 300 million has been allocated to launch the housing program for fishermen.
The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet also approved technical supplemental grants of Rs 822.7 million to support the fishermen in Gwadar.
The meeting was presided over by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, who also approved additional funds for Balochistan fishermen and the Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital (GTTH), Lahore, amounting PKR 1,022.75 million.
The Balochistan Chief Minister also authorized the issuance of health cards to fishermen registered with the Department of Fisheries and Coastal Development.
