CM Orders Transfer of Land to PKHA on Priority Basis

PESHAWAR: Mahmood Khan, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ordered the transfer of land to the Pakhtunkhwa Highways Authority (PKHA) for the Dir Motorway and Swat Motorway on a priority basis.

The chief minister requested that PKHA start working on several motorway sections concurrently so that it may be finished within the allotted time.

The meeting was scheduled, according to a formal statement released by the Chief Minister’s House, to examine the status of road construction.

The provincial roads improvement project and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa rural accessibility project should move forward more quickly, according to Mahmood.

He claimed that the Swat Motorway Phase-II was a crucial undertaking for promoting tourism in the region.

According to the statement, this initiative will not only offer simple access to tourist attractions but will also help in producing economic chances for the residents.

Before that, officials updated the other attendees on the status of the Dir Motorway, Swat Motorway Phase II, and other road projects.

They claimed that the Swat Motorway Phase-II was being built under a public-private partnership, for which the majority of the legal requirements had been satisfied and practical construction had started on the property given to the PKHA.

According to the officials, land acquisition for the Dir Motorway project is now under place on 30 kilometers of land in the Adinzai and Balambat tehsils.

They added that the Dir Motorway, which runs from Chakdara Interchange to Baroon (Lower Dir), was being built for a total of Rs. 53 billion.

The authorities also told the gathering that PC-I of the Rs. 69 billion KPRAP had been approved by the Provincial Development Working Party and submitted to the Central Development Working Party for approval.

They claimed that as part of the project, 774 km of roads would be built, including 323 km in flood-affected regions and 451 km to improve rural access to metropolitan centers.
