CM Punjab Approves Lahore’s Master Plan 2050

LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab, Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi, has approved the Lahore master plan along with sanctioning a one-window facility for overseas Pakistanis.

A meeting of the LDA governing body was presided over by the CM Punjab where he discussed matters regarding Lahore’s real estate sector.

During the meeting, CM Pervaiz Elahi discussed Lahore’s Master Plan and pressed concerns for the fulfillment of the residential needs of the city’s growing population.

He instructed the authorities to provide the possible facilities to the people who are living on the outskirts of the city.

The CM was further briefed about the city’s Master Plan by consultant, David, who pointed out economic development, regional strategy, and other issues.

While discussing the LDA one-window operation facility, he said that overseas Pakistanis would now be able to invest in LDA housing schemes without hassle.

He stated that the one-window operation facility would allow the expatriates to make safe investments and no bureaucracy would be allowed to disturb them.

CM Pervaiz Elahi further added that they would be purchasing the plots in one day directly from LDA and the plots would also be transferred to them on the same day they make payment.

While talking about transport, he directed the concerned authority to develop the city’s transport system on modern lines.

He urged the authorities to construct interchanges and flyovers for a hassle-free commute, and also suggested that vertical constructions should be promoted instead of acquiring agricultural land.

Further approvals in the meeting are as follows.

  • Approval of the overhead bridge in Azadi Chowk
  • Approval of Flyover and Underpass to make Akbar Chowk signal-free
  • Extension of the payment period for LDA Avenue-1 arrears and lifting of the moratorium on development work for TEPA was also approved
  • Approval for Amendments in LDA building and zoning regulations 2019
  • Approval for the constitution of the development Sub-committee for LDA (Parliamentarians will be included in this committee)

The meeting further approved that negotiations should be made with the parties in order to acquire land in Johar Town and Mouza Chak Mozing and to resolve issues in Mouza Kharak, Khyber block, Alama Iqbal Town, and Gulshan e Ravi as per the courts legal orders.
