CM Sindh Engages NGOs to Rebuild Flood-Affected Houses

KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has shared that the government is engaging Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) to rebuild the flood-affected houses.

The minister said that the administration has decided to work with the NGOs that surveyed the areas affected by the severe floods.

Per the details, PKR 50 billion out of the total budget of PKR 350 billion has been released for the rehabilitation project.

He added that according to the survey, about 2 million houses were damaged, and before reimbursement of any amount for rebuilding, the NGO will verify all the records and household information.

After the verifications, PKR 300,000 would be granted to each affected home in installments, he disclosed.

It is important to mention that the minister claimed that PKR 87 billion, allocated for the annual development program, has been reassigned to rehabilitation funds.
