Commissioner Stresses Traffic Planning Amid Development Projects in Lahore

LAHORE: Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa has instructed the relevant officers to prepare comprehensive traffic plans well in advance of launching any development projects in Lahore.

During a meeting, Commissioner Randhawa emphasized the importance of providing proper traffic routes before initiating these projects.

To ensure the convenience of citizens, Commissioner Randhawa directed the Central Business District, Lahore Development Authority, and Lahore Ring Road Authority to share the designs of their projects with the traffic police.

This collaboration will enable effective traffic management during the development works in the provincial capital.

Specifically, Commissioner Randhawa requested a traffic diversion plan for the areas surrounding Shahdara, Akbar Chowk, Samanabad, and Lahore Bridge projects.

These plans will help alleviate traffic congestion and ensure the smooth movement of vehicles in these key locations.

During the meeting, the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) provided a briefing on the measures already taken to maintain traffic flow in the city.

Commissioner Randhawa expressed his belief that the completion of ongoing and proposed projects will significantly address the traffic issues faced by the city.

Besides, the representatives from various departments, including LDA, CBD, Ring Road, Tepa, Nespak, Lesco, and other related agencies, attended the meeting to discuss efforts for effective traffic management.
