DC Retrieves Government Land During Anti-Encroachment Operation

RAWALPINDI: During an operation conducted by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi, local officials recovered government land in Ali Town on Adiala Road, according to reports on Wednesday.

According to the sources, DC Rawalpindi Capt (Retd) Shoaib Ali sent a team under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Saddar Division and other officers of the land revenue department, to stop the land mafia from building a house on government property in Ali Town.

The sources further informed that the DC also directed to launch of an investigation into the incidence of land grabbing where the land mafia intended to occupy land designated for a playground and Janza Gah.

According to reports, the DC also issued orders for dismantling the unlawful buildings that were built on public property.

The DC stated that the district government had freed the land from the control of the land mafia, adding that the authorities had booked the individuals responsible for the land grab.

He also assured that, if the accused are determined to be guilty after an investigation and land record check by ADLR, a case would be filed against them.
