Delegation Seeks 300-Acre Market Alongside Ravi Riverfront

LAHORE: On Thursday, Syed Hussain Jahania Gardezi, the provincial minister for agriculture, received a visit from a team of the Punjab Fruit and Vegetable Arhtiyaan Association.

Additionally present were the association’s chairman Amin Bhatti, vice presidents Hafiz Tahir and Khurram Munir, and general secretary Haji Rehman.

In order to ensure that farmers receive appropriate recompense for their labor, Gardezi informed the group that the Punjab government would create a new market at the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) on modern trends.

He said that the market will function in accordance with the latest equipment and international norms.

The delegation urged that the government provide 300 acres rather than 200 acres for the new market, help the Arhtis who are in need of money, and only grant licenses to working Arhtis.

The minister gave the delegation his word that he would take care of their concerns.

The Lahore Press Club Housing Scheme Phase-2, which is a phase of the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project, would allocate plots to journalists, according to the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA), and this idea has been incorporated into the master plan.

The delegation praised the efforts of the Punjab government and assured that their association would cooperate in every effort government is making for the people of the province.
