MULTAN: In a surprise inspection of the e-Khidmat Markaz registry branch, Deputy Commissioner Omar Jahangir found officials prevaricating when questioned about relevant records.
As a result, he has ordered a detailed audit of property registration and tax collection, reprimanding officials at the registry branch.
General assistant revenue Kiran Shahzadi has been tasked with conducting the audit and submitting a report within a week. Any officials found to be involved in corruption will face references to the Anti-Corruption Department.
DC Jahangir has expressed his commitment to recovering all taxes after completing a physical audit of the registry branch.
He believes that the e-Khidmat center is meant to offer different services to people under one roof, and he has vowed to devise a system of property registration that maintains transparency.
Additionally, DC Jahangir visited different branches and listened to complaints from the people.
