MANSEHRA: The anti-corruption establishment (ACE) conducted raids on various departments and organizations on Tuesday as part of an investigation into alleged massive corruption in development projects and recruitment during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s tenure from 2018 to 2023.
According to sources, ACE circle head Qamar Zaman informed reporters that departmental records were seized, and arrests of former PTI lawmakers and officials are expected due to their alleged involvement in the embezzlement of funds amounting to billions of rupees.
The raids targeted departments such as public health engineering, education, communication, and works, as well as the offices of the Kaghan Development Authority and tehsil municipal administration in Mansehra, Balakot, and Oghi.
Zaman stated that there is undeniable evidence of corruption in development schemes and appointments, involving former PTI MPAs Nawabzada Fareed, Ahmad Hussain Shah, Babar Saleem Swati, and officials.
Additionally, the ACE uncovered massive corruption by KDA officials related to development projects, fee collection from hoteliers and landowners, and other activities.
Furthermore, illegal appointments to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital, health centers, KDA, and education and public health engineering departments were also attributed to the former PTI lawmakers.
