MULTAN: Dr. Asif Tufail, the director general of excise, taxation, and narcotics control in Punjab, gave authorities instructions to use all available means to include new residential and commercial structures in the tax net.
He emphasized the need to meet tax goals and reclaim millions of rupees back in taxes to support the treasury.
While presiding over a meeting with Director Excise Multan Division Jam Siraj Ahmad and ETOs of all four zones, DG Excise shared these opinions.
Asif also ordered the formation of teams to evaluate and analyze new residential and commercial units.
Besides, to guarantee the complete collection of property tax payments till January 31, 2023, DG Excise Punjab was instructed to make all-out efforts to achieve the target.
He mentioned that the Punjab government had set up a regular website where citizens could obtain their tax challans and pay their taxes online without leaving their houses.
DG Excise said that a significant number of taxpayers benefited from the online tax payment system and emphasized the need for awareness efforts to spare people from spending time and traveling to offices.
