LAHORE: The Punjab Information and Technology Board (PITB) in Lahore has reported that the provincial government has received PKR 135 billion in tax revenues through the e-Pay Punjab online system.
As per the details, approximately 24 million transactions have been made through the e-Pay Punjab online system.
The following are the sums collected by the provincial government:
- PKR 83 billion in sales tax
- PKR 16 billion in token tax
- PKR 5 billion in traffic challan
- PKR 16 billion in property tax
- More than PKR 354 million in e-challan
It is important to mention that E-Pay Punjab, a payment system developed by the PITB in collaboration with the Punjab Finance Department and 1-Link, allows users to pay various taxes and levies from 11 departments throughout Punjab using a variety of methods.
ATMs, online banking, mobile phone banking, Jazz Cash, Easy Paisa, U-paisa, and over-the-counter at 1-Link member banks are a few platforms used for revenue collection.
