DG LDA Directs Swift Progress on Samanabad Underpass and Lahore Bridge

LAHORE: The Director General (DG) of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Muhammad Ali Randhawa conducted a visit to the ongoing development projects in the city on Sunday, assessing the progress and urging for their swift completion.

The two projects inspected by the commissioner were the Samanabad Underpass and Lahore Bridge.

During the visit, project directors provided detailed briefings to the commissioner regarding the status of each project.

Regarding the Samanabad Underpass, the commissioner was informed that the asphalting work on Multan Road above the underpass was underway.

It was anticipated that within a day or two, the road would be fully completed, allowing the reopening of Multan Road for regular traffic flow.

The facing walls on the Samanabad side of the underpass were already finished, while work on the underpass barrel and facing walls on the Gulshan Ravi side was progressing rapidly.

Despite heavy rainfall, the construction activities resumed promptly, operating day and night at an accelerated pace.

The commissioner stressed the importance of utilizing all available resources to make the underpass operational as soon as possible.

Moving on to the Lahore Bridge project, the commissioner was informed that the construction work on the bridge itself had been completed.

However, efforts were now focused on the beautification aspects of the project, including lighting and lane marking.

The commissioner instructed the authorities to expedite the beautification work and complete any remaining tasks promptly, to open the bridge to the public.
