MULTAN: The Director General of Multan Development Authority (MDA), Zahid Ikram, has ordered officials to take strict action against unapproved housing schemes and illegal commercialization.
According to sources, he has also asked for the record of unapproved housing schemes and illegal commercialization to be obtained.
In response to this directive, a formal operation has been launched against illegal commercialization, and the lists of illegal housing schemes are being updated.
MDA is taking this issue seriously and will not tolerate unapproved housing schemes and illegal commercial constructions in its controlled area, the spokesman added.
Besides, the Directors of town planning and urban planning have also been directed to take strict action against the mafia involved in these illegal housing schemes.
MDA has already issued a challan of Rs. 8.19 million in line with commercialization to a private hotel at Mauza Sher Shah Multan Bypass Road.
The crackdown is expected to continue until all unapproved housing schemes and illegal commercial constructions have been brought to an end.
Moreover, the officials claimed that the MDA is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its residents and will take all necessary measures to achieve this goal.
