District Council Employees to Stage Protest Outside DC Office

RAWALPINDI: A group of District Council employees has planned to stage a protest outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Thursday (today), in response to the threatening behavior adopted by the legal fraternity towards a district officer of the enforcement department.

According to the details, Officer Anoshia Afzal carried out a significant operation against encroachments in the areas of Adiala Road, Girja, and Chakri Road. This resulted in fines being issued to shopkeepers and dozens of truckloads being confiscated.

The shopkeepers were reportedly infuriated by the operation and approached the legal fraternity for assistance.

It was shared that some lawyers allegedly stormed into the DC’s office, where they threatened her with dire consequences and even threatened to ransack her office.
