LAHORE: Utilizing the online platform of e-Pay Punjab for the collection of government taxes/levies, the Government of Punjab has so far amassed record tax income of over Rs. 154 billion.
As per the details, this was shared at a meeting that examined the progress on the matter, presided over by the chairman of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), Faisal Yousaf.

Yousaf noted that e-Pay Punjab had significantly aided individuals by allowing them to pay their taxes online while traveling, or from the convenience of their homes.
According to sources, the Punjab government has so far received Rs. 98 billion in sales tax, Rs. 16 billion in token tax, Rs. 6 billion in traffic challan, Rs. 16 billion in property tax, and more than Rs. 360 million in lieu of e-Challan.
Additionally, the 26 taxes and levies for 11 different government agencies in Punjab can also be paid online using E-Pay Punjab, which was created by PITB in partnership with the Punjab Finance Department and 1 Link.
The system enables payments to be made over the counter at the 1Link-supported banks as well as through ATMs, online banking, mobile phone banking, and other methods of JazzCash, Easypaisa, U-paisa, and microfinance banks.
