ECC Approves Grants for Development Schemes and Programs

ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has given its approval for the release of a Technical Supplementary grant of Rs. 14,802.32 million to the Ministry of Housing and Works for development schemes in the current fiscal year 2022-23.

The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar.

In addition to the aforementioned grant, the ECC approved Rs. 1,000 million for development schemes in Punjab Province under the Sustainable Development Goals Achievement Programme (SAP) for the fiscal year 2022-23.

Another grant of Rs. 1,209.450 million was approved for the execution of 15 development schemes in the same fiscal year.

Furthermore, the ECC approved Rs. 5 billion for the Cabinet Division’s Sustainable Development Goals Achievement Programme during the fiscal year 2022-23.

An amount of Rs. 1,773 million was also approved for the execution of development schemes in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the fiscal year 2022-23.

Other approved grants include:

  • Rs. 3.96 billion for the Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training’s Higher Education Development in Pakistan project,
  • Rs. 130 million for the Ministry of Narcotics Control,
  • Rs. 8 million for the Operational Cost of the Anti-Narcotics Force,
  • Rs. 6 million to address the shortfall in the Revenue Division’s budget grant for the fiscal year 2022-23.
