ECC Approves Rs. 115 Million Technical Supplementary Grant for GT Road Project

ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved a technical supplemental grant (TSG) of Rs. 115 million for the upgrading of GT Road Gujrat-Lalamusa after the Ministry of Planning and Development submitted the funds for the program.

As per the details, the project was named “Rehabilitation/Improvement of Main G.T Road Gujrat-Lalamusa (Ghakhri Stop) to Gujrat-Dinga Road (Chakorhi Bhallowal Stop) Via Paswal, Kotla, Sarong, and Paswal to Thama Pliatak Lalamusa Tehsil Kharian, district Gujrat-III.”

The details show that a summary was submitted to the ECC for clearance, stating that the Ministry of Housing and Works is carrying out the plan for the current fiscal year through TSG to upgrade the aforementioned section of GT road.

Furthermore, the Ministry’s report also added that the Ministry of Planning and Development had granted additional funding for the development of the project.

It stated that the Finance Division agreed to the proposal subject to the surrender of funds by the Ministry of Planning, and Development on November 15, 2022.

It is worth mentioning that the ministry, therefore, sought approval of the ECC for the allocation of funds amounting to Rs. 115 million through TSG in the current fiscal year (2022-23) for the execution of the development scheme.
