ETPB De-Seals One Unit of Sheikh Rashid’s Lal Haveli

LAHORE: The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) has de-sealed a unit of Lal Haveli, the office of Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, after verifying the original documents.

Meanwhile, the Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench has disposed of a petition filed by Sheikh Rashid’s sister, Abida Shamim, against the sealing of the office.

The petition was dismissed by Justice Waqas Rauf Mirza after the ETPB de-sealed the office, which alleged that the sealing was an illegal act based on mala fide intention.

The lawyer representing Ms. Shamim stated that a deputy administrator had de-sealed the office overnight after the petition was filed in the high court.

It is worth mentioning that on 26th January, the district administration was requested by the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) to assist in the evacuation of the historic Lal Haveli in Rawalpindi and the political headquarters of Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed.
