Excise Department Exceeds Tax Recovery Target in Multan Division

MULTAN: The Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics department in the Multan division have successfully recovered over Rs. 2.20 billion in taxes, achieving an impressive 77% recovery ratio.

Deputy Director Admin/ETO Property Wing, Khalid Hussain Qasoori, shared that dedicated teams have been conducting regular raids to meet the target of Rs. 2.87 billion for the current fiscal year.

The recovered taxes encompass various categories, including property, motors, professional, luxury houses, and highways.

Director of Excise, Iftikhar Ahmad Bhali, has instructed all concerned officials to take necessary legal actions to achieve the 100% tax recovery target by June 2023.

Besides, Qasoori provided further details on the tax recoveries in specific districts. In the Multan district, over Rs. 1.57 billion was successfully collected against the target of over Rs. 2.03 billion, resulting in a 77% recovery ratio.

In addition, Vehari district witnessed a recovery of over Rs. 315 million, surpassing the target of over Rs. 399 million with a 79% recovery ratio.

Moreover, Khanewal district achieved a 70% recovery ratio, collecting over Rs. 210 million in taxes against the set target of over Rs. 304 million.

Similarly, Lodhran district achieved a 76% recovery ratio by collecting over Rs. 104 million compared to the set target of over Rs 137 million.
