Excise Department Recovers Rs. 1.8 Million During Eid Holidays Crackdown

RAWALPINDI: The Department of Excise Taxation and Narcotics Control launched a comprehensive crackdown on defaulters of property tax, luxury tax, and professional tax during the Eidul Fitr holidays.

This enforcement action resulted in the recovery of Rs1.8 million from the defaulters, which accounts for 60% of the current financial year’s shortfall.

Furthermore, five defaulters were arrested, and 28 properties were sealed as part of the effort to enforce tax regulations and recover outstanding dues.

These actions by the department are expected to contribute to the government’s revenue generation and financial discipline, the spokesman added.
