FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has sealed five illegal housing societies in various parts of the city in the previous 12 hours.
According to an FDA representative, these societies include:
- Ali Villas in Chak No 242-RB
- Dasoha Green Block, Chak No 247-RB
- Jahangir Azafi Abadi, Chak No 257-RB
- Azafi Abadi near Darbar Sufi Barkat Ali, Chak No 242-RB
- SMD Homes
He said that the Local Government Ordinance 2001 and the Development of Citizens Act 1976 required all housing plan developers to acquire FDA clearance before creating any residential scheme or commencing development.
He added that additional action was being taken in this respect.
Imtiaz Ali Goraya, Estate Officer at the FDA Town Planning Directorate, headed a team that sealed off the properties of these housing colonies as well as knocking down their offices and boundary walls.
Imtiaz warned the public to avoid purchasing plots in such unlawful housing complexes.
