FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has commenced the construction of a boundary wall at the cost of seven million rupees, following the Office of the Ombudsman Punjab’s direction.
The purpose of this boundary wall is to shield the residents of FDA City from the hazardous effects of sewage and industrial wastewater originating from nearby industrial units.
A statement issued by FDA’s spokesperson on Wednesday said that the Director General of the authority had ordered the environment protection department and municipal corporation to take stern action against the industrial units responsible for improper disposal of industrial waste in Samana village and for dumping sewage into the watercourse.
The objective behind this order is to relieve the inhabitants of FDA City from the grave hazards of environmental pollution.
The move by FDA is a significant step towards safeguarding the lives of people residing in the area, who have long been suffering from the detrimental effects of environmental pollution.
With the construction of this boundary wall and the Director General’s proactive measures, the residents of FDA City can now hope for a cleaner and safer environment.
