FGEHA, AJK Govt Join Hands to Expedite Housing Developments in AJK

ISLAMABAD: To provide residents in Rawalakot, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, with modern housing, the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) and the government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) agreed to expedite work on housing initiatives.

According to a representative of the Ministry of Housing and Works, an agreement between the FGEHA and the government of AJK had already been signed to address the housing shortage of the residents.

As per the terms of the agreement, the FGEHA would offer managerial and technical support for planning, designing, estimating the cost of engineering work, and supervising construction projects.

The representative stated that the FGEHA’s development projects were being completed at a substantially faster pace in order to give employees access to up-to-date housing options at the earliest.

The official claimed that while a block of 468 apartments was still being built, the FGEHA had finished the grey structure of 680 flats in the Life Style Residency project.

He also clarified that in the Lifestyle Residency project, no member had ever paid in full until 2015, even though the payment plan was set to end on March 31, 2021.
