PM AJK Lays Foundation of Housing Project for Martyrs

AJK: Prime Minister Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Muhammad Tanveer Ilyas, has laid the cornerstone of a housing project for low-income families.

An inaugural event was held in this regard in which a number of ministers, advisors, and bureaucrats were present.

According to the details, this project will comprise colonies having 500 residential units and will be developed in four districts of Azad Kashmir including, Kotli, Bagh, Neelam, and Mirpur.

During the event, the PM said that this was the first megaproject that would be developed with the help of Kashmir Orphan Relief Trust (KORT).

He said that the purpose of this project was to cater to the families of martyrs, and the end goal was not to get fame but to serve humanity.

While mentioning the sacrifices of the Kashmiris, the PM said that the people living near the line of Control were Pakistan’s first defense line and their safety should be ensured.

It was also revealed that an air ambulance service would be started with the support of the Shaheen Foundation which would provide medical services to the individuals who get injured due to Indian firing.

Earlier, the PM expressed gratitude to the Saudi Arabian government for giving PKR 30 billion for community projects in AJK.

The amount would be covering almost 85% cost of the 48 MW Shounthar Hydropower project and 22 MW Jagran-IV hydropower projects.
