FIA Transfers Shifa Int. Hospital Encroachment Case to CDA

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has transferred the Shifa International encroachment case to the Capital Development Authority (CDA).

FIA started the inquiry in 2016, and now, through an official letter, it has transferred it to the CDA, saying that the hospital violated the building regulations in 2020.

An FIA official shared that as the CDA deals in building bylaws, it would decide the penalties or fines for such violations.

The letter also read that the hospital has released the land that it encroached on earlier near the nullah.

It is important to mention that the violation of regulations of the Building Control Section (BCS) falls under the Islamabad Capital Territory Zoning Regulations 2020.

Furthermore, a survey was conducted by the CDA Directorate to determine the area encroached by the hospital, which was measured more than 8 feet.

There is a possibility that after calculating the value of the area, it would be made a part of the original plot.
