Former Ministers Summoned by ACE for Corruption Investigations

LAHORE: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has summoned former federal minister Zartaj Gul and former Punjab finance minister Hashim Jawan Bakht for separate corruption probes.

As per the details, ACE accused Zartaj Gul of taking a 10% commission on development works in her constituency, with her husband Humayun Akhund allegedly involved as well.

According to sources, the ACE issued a summons notice to them and the Public Health Engineering officers for April 10.

Meanwhile, Hashim Jawan Bakht was summoned on April 8 over irregularities in public health engineering schemes.

Moreover, the ACE alleged that he awarded contracts to preferred contractors at above-market rates and that substandard material was used in incomplete schemes in Rahim Yar Khan and Mianwali.

Besides, the former chief minister Usman Buzdar was also summoned on April 10 to investigate corruption in the construction of a 50km road costing Rs. 700 million.
