ISLAMABAD: The government, with the approval of the Prime Minister, has removed a 15-acre plot of Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) from the privatization list.
According to sources, the decision was made at the request of the Commerce Ministry by the Cabinet Committee on Privatization (CCoP).
The summary of the Commerce Ministry stated that the property may be delisted from the CCoP’s privatization list since the TCP wanted to establish a cold storage facility on the plot.
The committee approved the proposal of TCP, allowing it to determine the project’s feasibility and finalize the details of the project proposed on the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode.
Meanwhile, TCP began the process of establishing a cold storage facility on the same property in accordance with the needs of the area and in consultation with the PFVEA under the PPP model.
It is to note here that TCP has also prepared a Preliminary Feasibility Report in this regard.
