Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chairs Meeting on Uplift Schemes

PESHAWAR: On Thursday, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ghulam Ali presided over a meeting on the uplift schemes in the provincial capital.

The governor was briefed on the Peshawar Uplift beautification schemes, and the Project Management and Implementation Unit was said to have included 150 beautification schemes worth Rs. 5 billion in Hayatabad, Palosi, University Road, and University Town.

The first phase includes a six-kilometer Hayatabad trail worth Rs. 1.22 billion, with beautification schemes on Palosi Road, University Town, and University Road.

In the second phase, schemes worth Rs. 3 billion will be included in the city.

The governor directed officials to prioritize the interests of traders and ensure convenience for the general public while designing the schemes.

He also emphasized the importance of judicious spending of public funds and directed officials to include Qissakhwani Bazaar, Chowk Yadgar, Namakmandi, and Shoba Bazaar in the second phase of the project.

Additionally, Governor Ghulam Ali urged officials to ensure that 40 feet roads and 30 feet streets are ensured in housing schemes, and he instructed them to identify at least a 40-kanal plot for the establishment of an adventure park in the provincial capital.

He also highlighted the need for a water supply scheme from Warsak Dam to Peshawar and instructed officials to initiate the plan as soon as possible.
