Gwadar International Airport Ready to Elevate CPEC’s Progress

QUETTA: The Gwadar International Airport, a flagship project under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), is on the verge of its inauguration, as confirmed by Ghulam Qadir, the Commercial Counsellor of the Pakistani Embassy in Beijing.

As per the details, the inauguration ceremony will be a high-powered event, with a delegation from China joining dignitaries from Pakistan to mark this significant milestone.

The Gwadar International Airport is a crucial step forward for the CPEC, demonstrating the collaborative efforts of China and Pakistan to enhance infrastructure and boost the regional economy through improved communication networks.

Valued at $230 million and fully funded by the Chinese government, the airport spans an impressive 18 square kilometers and is situated 26 kilometers east of Gwadar city.

Once operational, it will become the second-largest airport in Pakistan, making it a pivotal gateway for business investors and tourists seeking to explore the region’s potential opportunities.

The airport’s construction commenced in October 2019, and the safety check by the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority has been completed.

Besides, the official completion deadline for the project was set for March 2023, and all necessary preparations are underway to meet this target.

It is relevant to note that the Gwadar International Airport holds vital importance in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor initiative, offering convenient access for travelers and investors for further growth and development in the region.

  2. Two big dams and airport construction started in Imran khan 3.5 years govt and still pmln and ppp says Imran khan govt do nothing for Pakistan.On the other hand pdm even didn’t make a medium size dam in their 30 years of dictatorship.
