GWADAR: The residents of Gwadar town are no longer facing water scarcity thanks to the successful completion of a 158km pipeline project that channels water from the Shadi Kor and Swad dams.
The Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) announced this significant achievement, stating that it marks the completion of one of the most challenging water projects in the town.
Director General of GDA, Mujeeb Ur Rehman Qambarani, took to Twitter to share the news and highlight the additional efforts made to ensure widespread access to drinking water.
In addition to the main pipeline, a new 141km water distribution pipeline has been installed to connect every household in the city.
Qambarani emphasized that new house connections are being provided, and there is an ample supply of water available, surpassing the daily demand.
To enhance water storage capacity, GDA has constructed four underground storage tanks at different locations in Gwadar City, collectively holding 10 million gallons of water.
Despite the project’s size and complexity, the diligent oversight by relevant government authorities enabled the swift completion of the water pipeline projects.
As a result, the consistent supply of water now reaches all city inhabitants, providing significant relief to the residents of Gwadar.
