Housing Department Orders Action Against Encroachments, Fee Recovery

MULTAN: Rana Akhlaq Ahmad, the additional secretary for housing, gave instructions to officials to expedite the process for encroachment and commercial fee recovery.

These orders were given by the additional secretary as he presided over a review meeting for the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA) as directed by the secretary of housing for South Punjab, Muhammad Asif Chaudhary.

In addition, Superintendent Abdul Kareem, Director PHATA Ahmad Malik, and Deputy Director Muhammad Ashfaq were also present.

He vowed to not permit commercial structures in residential areas and commanded that all of them be strictly dealt with under the pre-defined protocols.

Akhlaq said the Secretary of Housing showed displeasure and had issued orders for prompt action in response to the takeover of the Deputy Director of PHATA’s official residence.

Illegal occupiers, encroachers, and tax defaulters would not be accepted under any circumstances, according to Rana Akhlaq.

Additionally, he also issued instructions for the prompt retrieval of government sites and to take control of them, while ordering Director PHATA to provide daily updates in this respect.
