ICCI Meets with CDA Board to Discuss Development Works in Islamabad Markets

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) led by its President, Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, recently met with the board members of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to discuss development works in markets in Islamabad.

The meeting was chaired by CDA Member Planning & Design, Waseem Hayat Bajwa, and attended by other CDA board members.

During the meeting, Bakhtawari praised CDA Chairman Noorul Amin Mengal for focusing on development works in markets in line with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s instructions.

He emphasized the need for development works, such as the construction of parking lots, road carpeting, replacement of old sewage and drainage systems, footpath repairs, filtration plants, and construction of public toilets.

Bakhtawari suggested starting the development works in F-6 Markaz, F-7 Markaz, G-9 Makaz, Aabpara Market, Melody Market, Blue Area, F-10 Markaz, and I-8 Markaz, with the process gradually extended to other markets.

He also assured that the ICCI and market associations would cooperate with CDA in addressing these issues.

Bajwa, in response, confirmed that the development works proposed by ICCI would be initiated, with each market nominating a focal person to finalize the development works.

He also discussed the issue of encroachments in markets, which he said would be resolved through mutual consensus.

The ICCI delegation included representatives of major markets of Islamabad who all provided useful suggestions to the CDA board members about development works in their respective markets.
