ICCI Urges CDA to Prioritize Development in G-9 Markaz

ISLAMABAD: The President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, has called on the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to prioritize the development of G-9 Markaz.

The development includes the resurfacing of roads, the construction of a parking plaza, the repair of footpaths, the installation of a filtration plant, and the restoration of streetlights.

This statement was made while addressing a delegation of the Traders Welfare Association, G-9 Markaz, that visited the ICCI led by its President, Raja Javed Iqbal.

The delegation included Haji Zafar, Secretary General, Ch. Abdul Ghaffar, Senior Vice President, and other members of the association.

Bakhtawari also highlighted the need to replace the 40-year-old sewerage system in Karachi Company, as it is deteriorating and leaking from multiple places.

He emphasized that the G-9 Markaz is one of the largest commercial centers of the capital but is facing multiple problems due to a lack of development works.

The President and Secretary General of the Traders Welfare Association, G-9 Markaz, also shared the major issues of their market and pointed out that G-9 Markaz generates a significant amount of revenue for CDA but is not receiving any development works in return, which is unfortunate.

They urged CDA to focus on better development of this important business center to facilitate the trading community and promote business activities.

They also assured that they would work with the ICCI for the welfare of the trading community in Islamabad.

Furthermore, other members of the ICCI also spoke at the occasion, emphasizing the need for CDA to start development works in G-9 Markaz without any further delay.
