IHC Refers Controversial CDA Chief Appointment Case to Larger Bench

ISLAMABAD: An Islamabad High Court (IHC) single-member bench on Monday forwarded the matter to the Chief Justice for the creation of a larger bench to hear the appeal against the simultaneous appointment of one individual to the positions of chairman CDA and chief commissioner ICT.

The case brought by Riaz Hanif Rahi Advocate was heard by Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb while Attorney General Munawar Dogal also showed up in court.

As per the details, the petitioner’s attorney requested the court to put up a larger bench at the beginning of the hearing in order to continue the hearing.

The court decided to refer the case to the Chief Justice after taking note of the accused’s repeated requests for a larger bench.

Besides, the court also commented that it was not amusing for someone to continue working in the Chairman CDA’s office and watching over the proceedings of the Chief Commissioner’s office.
