ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has requested written assurance from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) regarding the construction of a lawyers’ complex during a contempt case hearing.
The CDA’s official assured the court that they would provide details of the work order for the project within three days.
The court also directed the civic body to inform it about the start of work in writing for the next hearing.
The case was heard by Chief Justice Aamer Farooq while Qaiser Imam and Saad Rajput were representing the District Bar Association and the Islamabad High Court Bar Association.
The Chief Justice asked CDA officials when the work on the project would begin, as the court had already given a one-month time frame that has passed.
He emphasized that the court was not initiating contempt proceedings yet, but it wanted the execution of the court’s orders.
CDA’s lawyer, Nazeer Chohan, assured the court that the department would issue the work order in three days and start the work as soon as funds are released.
