ISLAMABAD: The Senate Standing Committee on Housing and Works was informed that alleged illegal appointments in the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) and the Pakistan Housing Authority (PHA) were being investigated.
According to a press release issued by the Senate secretariat, the committee was informed that the ministry of housing and works has formed an inquiry committee to thoroughly investigate the issue and will submit a report to the committee within two weeks.
Furthermore, the committee also discussed several other issues, including appointments in the PHA, FGEHA, and Estate Office, cases of illegal plot allotments, funds used by Pak PWD in Malakand Division, and matters related to a new housing scheme Sky Gardens in Bhara Kahu.
The committee was also informed that massive irregularities were committed since contractors were awarded multiple projects that resulted in the cancelation of these tenders by the then assistant commissioner who was replaced later.
During a discussion about encroachments in G-14/1 to G-14/4, a subcommittee was formed to investigate the details.
