Information Minister Sindh Warns of Strict Action Against Encroachers

KARACHI: The Information Minister of Sindh Sharjeel Inam Memon has stated that the government does not want to shut down the businesses of people but no one will be allowed to make encroachments or build shopping malls and block flood water drains.

While visiting the flood-hit areas of Latifabad and Hyderabad rural, he urged encroachers to remove their encroachments to ease the flow of water that had caused havoc.

During his visit to Latifabad, he examined the situation following the removal of encroachment from a stormwater drain near Boulevard Mall.

“A permanent solution to rain-related issues will be found soon,” he assured while stating that the HMC administration had been asked to appoint volunteers for a week to improve the city’s drainage and water flow.

DC Hyderabad and other relevant officers were also tasked to take strict action against the perpetrators.
