Interim Minister Directs LWMC to Turn Lahore Garbage-Free

LAHORE: Ibrahim Hasan Murad, the acting minister for Local Government and Community Development (LGCD) in Punjab, has given the Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) officers orders to launch a comprehensive awareness campaign.

The minister ordered a campaign for the next 3 to 4 months with the slogan ‘Cleanliness Is Our Half Faith’ to make Lahore “the cleanest city in recorded history”.

As per the details, he was receiving a briefing on the business’ performance at the LWMC office where he made it clear that his goal was to make Lahore the most attractive and well-maintained city in all of Asia.

The interim LG Minister stated that taxpayer money should be put to good use by making streets, parks, roads, public schools, and colleges clean and green.

Ibrahim also urged the masses to wholeheartedly embrace the Green Lahore initiative and aid the administration in driving dengue and pollution out of the city.

Furthermore, to align the business with the ideals of sustainable development, he also instructed the officers to launch projects for producing power and biogas from the trash.

He suggested using trackers and contemporary technologies for efficient surveillance of sanitary personnel and vehicles.

The provincial minister also issued a directive ordering employees to be placed in each area of Lahore by the need for conducting research surveys.

According to him, the best services should be offered to the public as acts of worship to prevent the wasting of national resources.

Earlier, CEO LWMC Ali Annan gave the province minister an overview of the company’s main divisions and problems being faced.
