PESHAWAR: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has devised the “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Flood Response Plan 2022,”.
Under the plan, rehabilitation and compensation activities will be carried out to rebuild damaged infrastructure and recompense individuals for losses suffered by the recent flash floods.
During a meeting on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Flood Response Plan 2022, the CM gave the go-ahead to the proposed plan.
The meeting was informed that the estimated losses caused by the flash floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are over Rs. 120.2 billion, including losses of Rs. 42.5 billion for the private sector and damages of Rs. 77.7 billion for the public sector.
Additionally, 107,22 acres of agricultural land have been impacted, resulting in an estimated loss of Rs 16 billion, it was disclosed.
According to a statement, Chief Minister Mahmood Khan also authorized the creation of a Climate Resilient Infrastructure Fund, which will offer advice to infrastructure developers in addition to financial support.
Khan also gave instructions to the officials to develop plans and submit formal recommendations for the Climate Resilient Infrastructure Fund’s approval by the appropriate forum at the earliest.
