PESHAWAR: The Caretaker Minister for Irrigation, Communications & Works in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Engineer Ahmed Jan, has issued directives to accelerate efforts to enhance the irrigation system within the province.
In a recent meeting held in Peshawar, Minister Ahmed Jan emphasized the pivotal role of the Irrigation Department in the province’s development and stability.
He called upon all department officials to recognize their responsibilities and actively contribute to the province’s advancement by leveraging their technical expertise.
The meeting convened with the participation of Secretary Irrigation Tahir Orkazai, along with senior officers from various attached entities and development projects within the Irrigation Department.
During the meeting, the minister was briefed on ongoing major irrigation projects in the province.
Additionally, he received updates on the department’s initiatives aimed at safeguarding canal systems and other irrigation sources, including measures to protect against potential floods.
