Lack of Funds and Harsh Weather Slows Construction Progress in Chitral

ISLAMABAD: The Government officials have denied rumors that construction work on crucial infrastructure projects in Upper and Lower Chitral has been halted.

Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Communication, Shahida Akhtar Ali responded to a calling attention notice and clarified that construction work is progressing slowly due to harsh weather conditions and a lack of funds.

The Ministry of Communication has reportedly requested the release of funds from the relevant department to ensure that the projects are completed in a timely manner.

The Secretary also confirmed that the Chitral-Shandur road infrastructure project is expected to be completed by December 2024.

The project has been allocated Rs 1,200 million, and secretary Shahida expressed her regret that the previous government had not given it the attention it deserved.
