RAWALPINDI: The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) took action on Thursday to seal Lal Haveli, which has been utilized by Awami Muslim League (AML) leader Sheikh Rashid Ahmed.
According to sources, this operation was carried out with a significant number of police and FIA personnel.
ETPB Deputy Administrator Asif Khan led the operation, sealing the main doors of Lal Haveli, including the former interior minister’s office and the passage leading to the main hall.
During the operation, multiple units within Lal Haveli, including spaces used for political meetings, were also sealed. Following the operation, ETPB officials locked the main gate of Lal Haveli.
In a statement to the media, ETPB Deputy Administrator Asif Khan mentioned that the Elite Force, police, and FIA assisted the Evacuee Board in executing the operation.
Besides, he acknowledged that the Lal Haveli’s registry was not counterfeit but was revoked after the action.
He also noted that Sheikh Rashid can appeal against the action taken by the authorities, as he has legal recourse available.
