ISLAMABAD: On Wednesday, a man ostensibly died of ‘happiness’ after the Supreme Court ruled in his favor in a five-year-old land dispute case.
According to reports, Umar Ali purchased land in Battagram, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. His opponents, however, filed a claim to the land upon which, in 2017, he filed an appeal in the Supreme Court against his opponent’s move.
After a wait of five long years, the petition was finally approved for hearing and the case was heard on Wednesday by a two-member bench of the highest court, led by Justice Ijazul Ahsan.
As the proceedings concluded and the verdict was announced in Ali’s favor, he suffered a heart attack, which was apparently caused by ‘joy’.
The victim was initially treated at the court before being rushed to the Polyclinic Hospital.
However, he was unable to recover and was declared dead by the doctors.
